Augusta County Virginia
Trout Slam
Fish the high mountain trout streams, George Washington National Forest and Wilderness areas, and Shenandoah Valley rivers and streams with the Blue Ridge Mountains as your backdrop. Let our fly fishing guides take you out to target the trout species of Virginia. Native brook trout one day, brown trout of famed Mossy Creek another, and then target wild rainbows as you climb over waterfalls upstream in the backcountry. All the trout close to home.
Fly Fishing and Lodging
Explore Augusta County, Virginia and all the fishing recreation it has to offer. We have a miles of wild trout streams throughout the region and plenty of additional waterways for stocked trout fishing to check off every fish on your trout bucket list in one weekend. Explore North River and South River outside the City of Waynesboro for larger water. Let us give you instruction on catching native brook trout on endless small streams, or try your hand on picturesque Mossy Creek. A special regulation area is stocked annually and allows for extremely large brown trout. You won't believe the stories you'll hear, but the sign that reads "one fish per day, must exceed 20 inches in length" is proof.

Besides fishing for trout, anglers can add an extra day taking a smallmouth bass fishing float on the Shenandoah River. Ride along in our rafts as the river winds it's way north or spend an additional day taking one of many hikes throughout the Shenandoah National Park. If it is time to explore all the outdoor fishing experiences Augusta County has to offer contact Middle River Outfitters for one of the best variety of fisheries on the East Coast.
